The Westbury to Lostwithiel autoballaster train, powered by Colas 70816, was put on the “Up” line at Dawlish Warren to allow the Cross Country Edinburgh to Plymouth service to pass it whilst the Infrastructure train could continue it’s journey without having to stop. The video shows firstly the autoballaster train passing followed soon after by the Voyager at Dawlish and then at Teignmouth with the Voyager ahead of it through the station. The Class 70 with its 1200 ton load approached cautiously, waiting for the finger post signal to clear to allow it back onto the correct “down” line before powering up again.
