While the Country starts to shiver and concerns grow about the Beast from the East we thought we should advise on what we are anticipating on the cameras this week.
Sunday already has Cross Country Trains warning about cancelled Voyager services. GWR will no doubt accept Cross Country tickets between Exeter St Davids and Newton Abbot as the companies work well during these conditions. We are not expecting any other cancellations.
Sunday’s expected conditions – 40 – 45 mph Easterly winds with High Tide at 1347. We should see a lot of waves over topping the wall and hitting Trains and our San Remo camera. Blenheim camera will catch the expected over topping towards Kennaway Tunnel.

Monday will be almost an exact match with High tides at 0213 & 1504. As yet no word from Cross Country Trains.
Tuesday is expected to have decreased wind conditions so no disruption is currently expected.
Wednesday from 1pm see’s the wind return with speeds reaching in excess of 50mph from the East. Snow may well accompany the wind. Expect disruption and best viewing times will be from 2 hours before High Tide at 1728.
Thursday could see the most severe of all this weeks conditions. High tides are at 0550 & 1825 with winds again forecast to be above 50 mph with snow.
We will do our best to bring live coverage to our Facebook page but that will depend on availability of DB personnel. Alternatively please make a note of these viewing times and go to https://www.dawlishbeach.com/cameras/ and choose your viewing level and available camera.
We strongly suggest that people view our cameras rather than visit the wall during these conditions. Please do not put yourself or others at risk.
Happy viewing
