Sunday’s run was postponed because of the weather so today saw the first outing for the four carriage Class 43 powered “Castle” set. It is on test calling in for one minute stops at each station between Plymouth and Exeter St. Davids before reversing for a run to Truro and than going back to Exeter St. Davids again .From there it will return to Laira depot. It is due to do the same runs for all the weekdays this week.  Power car leading is 43093, named “Old Oak Common HST Depot 1976-2018” and carries the rather difficult to see vinyl overlays depicting the change from steam power to the latest Bi-mode diesel electric locomotives of the GWR.

I like the way the snow has left a flying swan emblem on the rear of the HST!
